 Did You Know? The government provided $3 million in the 2008-09 budget to help individuals who provide in-home care to the elderly and dependent relatives. This money will be used to double the Caregiver Tax Credit, the Infirm Dependent Tax Credit, the Disability Supplement Tax Credit and the Disability Amount for Self Tax Credit. Programs & Services YouthThe Ministry of Social Services provides services to 16 or 17 year old youth when they appear to be in need of care and supervision when there is no parent who is willing or able to take responsibility for the young person, or the young person cannot return to live with his or her family for reasons of safety.
