The following programs are offered through the Ministry of Social Services to assist low-income seniors with their basic needs:

Make it possible for moderate-income seniors to access suitable rental accommodations ensuring that rents are maintained at the low end of the market.

The Personal Care Home Benefit (PCHB) provides seniors with monthly financial assistance to help them with the cost of living in a licensed personal care home.

Seniors may access the Saskatchewan Rental Housing Supplement if they have dependent children living with them or if they have a disability which impacts their rental housing options.

Provides a monthly supplement to seniors who have little or no income other than the federal Old Age Security pension and Guaranteed Income Supplement.

The Province committed to renewing and expanding Saskatchewan Housing Corporation’s (SHC) Life Lease Program to improve affordable housing options for seniors. Details of the renewed and expanded SHC Life Lease Program are still being considered and will be announced at a later date.

Provides suitable, adequate and affordable rental housing for low-income seniors and families in more than 280 communities throughout the province.
