Budget 2008-09 - Ready for Growth
Did You Know?

The government provided $3 million in the 2008-09 budget to help individuals who provide in-home care to the elderly and dependent relatives. This money will be used to double the Caregiver Tax Credit, the Infirm Dependent Tax Credit, the Disability Supplement Tax Credit and the Disability Amount for Self Tax Credit.

The Ministry of Social Services, through the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC), promotes self-sufficiency and independence by providing housing and housing services for families, seniors, persons with disabilities and others who could not otherwise afford safe, secure shelter.

Good quality housing that is affordable has many social, economic and health benefits. Through HomeFirst, the province's housing strategy, SHC is working towards achieving a safer, better and more secure future for Saskatchewan people and the communities in which they live.
